The MIS curricula are designed to encourage every child to achieve their highest potential as well as to meet the English Curriculum standards. Our focus is on the physical, psychological, intellectual and social development of each student.
MIS offers Preschool & Kindergarten education for children aged between 2 and 5 years old. We use the Montessori educational method in parallel with the Early Years Foundation Stage of the English curriculum. Both approaches promote the key areas of care, learning and development.
In the UK, Preschool is known as the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), which covers education for children before they reach five. Meanwhile ‘Kindergarten’ here in Thailand, is equivalent to the ‘Reception Year’ in the U.K. which admits children who turn 5 during the academic year.
Our primary school caters for children aged between 5 and 11 years old. It offers a broad and balanced curriculum based on the English National Curriculum. We offer high academic standards and a wide range of enrichment curriculum activities. All our pupils are treated as individuals, and their unique talents are nurtured and developed.
Our Secondary School provides education to 11- to 16 – year-olds culminating in students sitting internationally recognised Cambridge IGCSE exams. During the first three years students study a broad and comprehensive secondary curriculum based primarily on the English National Curriculum, in order that they develop the required skills and academic knowledge needed prior to beginning a number of core and elective two-year IGCSE courses when they reach Year 10. Formal assessment and coursework for IGCSE is externally graded and students generally sit their IGCSE examinations in Term 3 of Year 11.
